Lotus Announces More Ways To Make The Evora Lighter

Adding lightness is the golden rule at Lotus, and thankfully the company keeps finding ways to follow that principle. If you’re interested in the Evora 400, know that you can shed enough weigh that the car will tip the scale at a mere 2,983 pounds, thanks to several new options.

One of these new options is the Carbon Pack, which can be purchased everywhere the Evora 400 is available. It bundles together several carbon fiber parts from the Evora Sport 410, including the wing side mirror caps, front splitter, front access panel, roof panel, rear diffuser finisher and rear wing center. In total, the pack sheds about 11 pounds. The price tag in the United States for this option is $10,000.

Lotus Evora 400 owners can drop another 22 pounds by swapping out the stock exhaust system for a titanium sports exhaust. The option will set you back a cool $8,000. A new lithium-ion battery for the Evora 400 sheds 22 pounds, plus runs $1,690.
Enthusiasts in Europe and Asia can now get a front center cupholder and tray. Originally, the option was only for North America, but Lotus feels other markets want to have the convenience. It only weighs a quarter pound, so you’re not paying a porker penalty for having somewhere to set a drink.
