Cadillac Turns Over A New Leaf With Escala Concept
If you thought the Cadillac CT6 was impressive, much bigger things are coming for the luxury brand. Cadillac seems poised to finally reclaim its rightful crown, thanks to the reveal of the Escala Concept.
The car shows off a dramatic, more sophisticated design language that’s been missing from the Cadillac lineup for decades. Gone are the garish geometric lines that seem more at home on a Lamborghini. They’re replaced by elegant athleticism, which doesn’t scream “look at me” but instead turns heads for all the right reasons.
Cadillac checks off all the right boxes with the Escala: rear-wheel drive, a big V-8 (twin turbo, no less), and big bodily dimensions. What we’re likely seeing is the future CT8 and a car that will make German automotive execs see red.
Instead of looking back too much, the Cadillac Escala is definitely a modern take on the automobile. This goes far beyond the Ciel and Elmiraj concepts, showing that Cadillac has what it takes to not only survive in the current market, but to potentially push the envelope.
For now, the Escala is just a concept, with no production schedule confirmed. Cadillac would be truly foolish to not move forward with this project.
It looks like Cadillac might pull a Volvo, reworking its brand and launching a comeback that silences the haters. Seeing this new design language applied across the model lineup gives us all something great to look forward to.
