Jeep is Reviving the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and Leaked Images Prove it
Jeep is steadily rolling out more of its “Hawk” models, and today we have leaked images of the latest Grand Cherokee to boast this name. Unfortunately, this model isn’t the rumored, Hellcat-powered Trackhawk version of the SUV. Instead, it is a more off-road ready version dubbed the Trailhawk.
The leaked images (above and below) prove that Jeep will revive the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk sometime soon and that it’ll closely resemble the version of its largest SUV that wore the same nameplate in 2013. What these images do not reveal is what really makes this model special.
Chances are that the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will use the same engines as the standard Grand Cherokee, meaning buyers can have it with either a 295-horsepower V-6 or a 360-hrosepower 5.7-liter V-8. Some reports are tossing out the possibility of the Trailhawk being a Hellcat-powered trail monster, but I highly doubt that this is the case.
In terms of upgrades, I would say this new Trailhawk will likely be quite similar to the one in 2013 if the images are any indication. The leaked pictures show that this model gains red tow hooks up front, special wheels, a matte-black hood graphic, meaty tires, a suspension lift, and an upscale cabin that features leather and Alcantara.
There is no indication of when we may see this model in the metal, but given there are already press images available, it is likely set to debut soon. We’ll bring you all the information once the new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk makes its official debut.
