Completely Redesigned Kia Sportage Starts from $22,990

With its redesign, the 2017 Sportage has gone from a pretty standard compact crossover to a polarizing rig that you either love or hate. Some people, myself included, are still trying to sort out what we think of it. In the meantime, Kia has revealed the price of this rig and its various packages.

The 2017 Sportage will be available in three trims LX, EX, and SX Turbo. The base LX trim level, which comes standard with LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, chrome window surrounds, tinted rear windows, a 5-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, and a 181-horsepower engine starts from $22,990. This amounts to an $840 price increase over the 2016 model.
For buyers looking to lux up their base Sportage a bit, there are a few optional packages. The LX Popular Package, which adds in heated front seats and outside mirrors, a 10-way power driver’s seat, upgraded tricot cloth seats, and roof rails for an extra $1,100. There is also the $900 Cool and Connect package that adds dual-zone auto climate control, an auto defroster, and the new UVO 7-inch touchscreen audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Moving into the midrange EX trim level will push the base price up to $25,500. This trim level essentially builds upon the LX trim with the Cool and Connected package by adding leather seating, push-button start, 18-inch wheels, fog lights, and gloss-black exterior trim. A $1,900 EX Premium Package tosses in a heated steering wheel, power-folding mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, blind-spot detection with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic assist, an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink, and LED interior lighting.
Checking the $2,700 Technology Package loads up the Sportage EX with the UVO 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, a 320-watt Harman Kardon premium audio system with Clari-Fi technology, front and rear parking assist, a Smart Power Liftgate, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, front collision warning, auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, vented front seats, and an eight-way power passenger seat.
For buyers looking for added performance and luxury, there is the fully loaded SX Turbo model, which boasts the 240-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all the bits included in the EX trim with the Technology Package, larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch rollers, satin exterior trim, dual exhaust, metal-look skid plates, a unique grille, bi-xenon headlights, , Dynamic Bending Light, LED fog lights and taillights, a D-shaped steering wheel, paddle shifters, and much more. This model will set buyers back $32,500.
All three trims have Magna Dynamax all-wheel drive available for an extra $1,500.
