Audi Reveals Limited-Edition R8 Selection 24H

I tend to wear my love for all things Audi on my sleeve, and the R8 definitely has a special place in my heart. Not only is it insanely fast, but it is one of the most accessible supercars in terms of price, and its looks are not nearly as in-your-face as many other supercars. So, when Audi launches a special-edition R8, I tend to get a little giddy. Today is one of those days, as the four-ring brand has just launched its Selection 24H version of its R8 V10 Plus.

Living up to the personality of the R8, this special edition has only subtle changes that make it unique. The most striking of the outward changes is its tricolor paint job that mimics that of its GT3 LMS sibling. Like Audi’s classic racing livery, the three colors include a Suzuka grey body with Mythos black and Misano red accents. Adding to this model’s uniqueness are its gloss-finished carbon-fiber front spoiler, mirror housings, engine compartment cover, rear wing and rear diffuser, carbon-fiber side blades with “R8 24h” logos, black-trimmed exhaust exits, entry lights that project “R8” on the ground as you approach the vehicle, and gloss-anthracite black 20-inch aluminum wheels.

This special-edition R8 also has loads of updated goodies in its cabin. These updates include full-leather upholstery in rotor grey, an Alcantara headliner, gloss-finish carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic inlays around the Virtual Cockpit and air vents with the “R8 24h” logo, illuminated high-gloss carbon-fiber doorsill plates with a number 1 through 24 indicating the number of each car in the limited series, and tons of customization options.

Being based on the R8 V10 Plus, the Selection 24H boasts a V-10 powerplant that cranks out 610 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. This is good for a 0-to-60 sprint of just 3.2 seconds and a 205 mph top speed. Audi will also fit these models with a standard sports exhaust system and its magnetic ride control.

Audi hasn’t announced the official pricing or release dates for the R8 V10 Plus Selection 24H, but it did announce that only 24 of them will be available worldwide.
