Many people are fans of European cars for a variety of reasons. Some drivers prefer the tight-handling nature that is common on many vehicles that are engineered or even made in the region. Others prefer the high levels of luxury that are common on many European models sold in the United States. Still others enjoy the prestige of owning a vehicle that comes from a long line of venerable models.

Whatever the reason for your interest in a new European vehicle, any one of the following ten are a great choice. The list covers a variety of vehicles and budgets, helping accommodate a range of tastes and needs.

1. Jaguar F-Type

If you have not had the privilege of seeing the new F-Type in person, you are missing out on one of the greatest pieces of automotive eye candy in existence today. Jaguar’s first roadster in several decades is a design masterpiece that is sleek and at the same time appropriately aggressive, all without trying too hard to scream for attention (unlike certain Italian automakers’ designs). Even if the F-Type was just a pretty face, it would still be a compelling car. But Jaguar has declared that “it’s good to be bad” and so has equipped the F-Type with some truly wicked powertrain options. The base supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine puts out 340 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque, which is enough for most people. If you like things extra bad, the S model’s V6 puts out 380 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque, while the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 kicks out 495 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.

Ah Europeans cars suck. Underpowered crap unless you spring for the power models. In which case, they become too expensive. And as far as to the handling, well our roads are all straight. And so totally useless.

Now when will these writers add the real cost of owning/driving European cars…like the cost of parts and repairs. I will stick with my Japanese autos.

Ford Escort or Fiesta is found in Europe. We need to see the top Asian autos found in Europe and compare the reliability over a 10 year period.

TDI are known for torque. I to have a VW Passat TDI SEL with the 400w Fender sound system and DSG. Love the SD slot more than you know!

BMW covers first 4 years not 3 years of maintenance (or 50K in mileage whichever comes first)
