Trump Is Back To Slamming Ford

About a year ago, Donald Trump decided to target Ford for its decision to move some manufacturing to Mexico. He’s at it again, saying taking jobs from hard-working Americans proves the American automaker is busy making America not great.

Trump, along with conservative media outlets such as Drudge Report and Breitbart, are portraying Ford as unpatriotic. That’s not an entirely accurate picture, but in an election packed with explosive emotion, that’s not surprising.

To be honest, as Automotive News points out, Ford’s pretty much mismanaged the situation. Instead of emphasizing that it’s locating less-profitable work to Mexico, it’s bumbled the message.

The move will ship C-Max and Focus assembly south of the border. The United Auto Workers (UAW), signed off on the plan because it actually benefits workers in the US. Ford facilities here will be pumping out more trucks and SUVs, which means higher pay for workers.

This strategy will also help with razor-thin profit margins on small cars. By lowering production costs, Ford stands to make more money each time it sells a Focus or C-Max.

All of a sudden after decades of making
smaller vehicles , Ford says it needs to move
to Mexico to lower production costs .
I grew up with the Ford Falcon Fiesta .
Maverick , Pinto and there was never
any talk about production costs .
While it is true larger vehicles have higher
profits ; why isn’t Chrysler and General Motors following Ford and what will happen
    when they do .
Secondly , what will happen to all the
workers who worked on small cars , will
they be put to work making larger vehicles ?
