The 2016 Nissan GT-R Starts From $101,770

Though its looks have remained virtually unchanged since it debuted, Nissan has made certain that with each new model year, the GT-R saw at least some form of improvement, including the recently unveiled 2016 model.

Though we’ve already gone over the updates for this new model year, let’s review them quickly. For 2016, the GT-R sees a 5-horsepower bump in its Premium and Black Edition trims, taking the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 from 545 horsepower to 550 ponies. Other changes include new 20-poke RAYS aluminum wheels on the Premium trim level in the place of the old 10-spoke rollers. Also on the list of updates is a new 45th Anniversary Gold Edition model with an exclusive paintjob.

The big news today is that despite all of these improvements, Nissan chose to leave the GT-R’s pricing unchanged for the 2016 model year. With manufacturers like BMW jacking up the price of its models in the middle of a model year, this is quite refreshing. The base GT-R Premium will start out at $101,770, while the Black Edition, which gains black wheels, a red-and-black interior, leather Recaro seats, and a dry-carbon-fiber spoiler, jumps to $111,510.
The big-boy of the lineup, the 600-horsepower GT-R Nismo, pushes the price all the way up to $149,990. For this extra scratch, you not only get the extra power, but you also get a retuned suspension, extra aero work that gives an extra 220 pounds of downforce, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and more.
The 2016 Nissan GT-R is available at select Nissan dealers now.
