If the 2016 Corvette Z06 simply isn’t enough car for you, then Chevy has the rig for you: the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition. No, you can’t go buy a C7.R racecar straight from your local Chevy dealer, but you can get a Z06 that pays homage to this awesome racecar.

This special-edition Z06 is only available on 3LZ trim-level Corvette Z06s. On top of the typical awesomeness included with this American supercar, the exterior of this this rig comes with C7.R Edition graphics, yellow brake calipers, black wheels with a yellow stripe and Corvette Racing center caps, a naked carbon-fiber ground-effects package and center hood section, and Spectra Grey Metallic grilles and vents.

Buyers can pick up this newest addition to the Z06 family in either Corvette Racing’s signature yellow or black.

On the inside, this homage-paying Z06 gains a black interior with suede microfiber accents, suede microfiber-wrapped competition sport seats, steering wheel and shifter, yellow contrast stitching, high-gloss carbon-fiber trim, Corvette Racing sill plates, and a numbered plaque.

I think it goes without saying that this takes the special Z06 and pushes it to a whole new level, and I haven’t even gotten to the part that Chevy will limit it to only 500 units. That’s right, this is a collectors’ item straight off the showroom floor.

To help protect your baby, Chevy is tossing in a special C7.R car cover.

Other than all of the aforementioned bits, this new Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition is your standard Z06 with the Z07 Performance Package. This means that it comes standard with the LT4 supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 powerhouse that punishes asphalt with 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, adjustable front and rear aerodynamics, and Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires.

This setup allows the Z07 C7.R Edition to hit 60 mph in just 2.95 seconds and hold a face-twisting 1.2g on the skid pad.

There is no mention of when the 2016 Z07 or this special C7.R Edition model will debut, nor is there any mention of pricing. Stay tuned for these details in the near future.
