Lotus has been on a roll lately, as it’s been opening new dealers, releasing new vehicles, and in recent months, actually making a profit. Today, Lotus continues its recent success with the introduction of a special, limited-edition version of its Exige V6 Cup.

Known as the Exige 360 Cup, this model combines a mild power boost with a slightly different look, a more powerful engine, and a limited run of only 50 models.

The first bit of info to go over is the upgraded looks of this limited-edition Exige. Lotus will offer it in just four colors: Metallic White, Metallic Grey, Metallic Black, and Metallic Silver. Along with these colors comes a matte-black roof, revised front access panel, a lightweight tailgate, and a louvered engine cover. For extra pizzazz, there are splashes of Motorsport Red here and there on the front of the hood, the front lip spoiler, and the wheels.

This model carries the standard Exige V6 Cup’s aero kit that adds 42 pounds of downforce at 100 mph. That may not sound like much on the surface, but on a 2,491-pound racer, that’s plenty.

Inside the cockpit, there are also some new visual touches. These include embroidered seats and a unique dash. Optionally, buyers can add a red Alcantara interior, FIA carbon-fiber racing seats, air conditioning, and a removable steering wheel.

Powering this track-ready rig is the same 3.5-liter supercharged V-6 as the standard V6 Cup, but Lotus added a free-flowing exhaust and intake system to increase its output by 10 horsepower. This gives the Exige 360 Cup 355 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 295 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. This boosted six-cylinder pairs with a six-speed manual transmission to launch this limited-run Lotus to 60 mph in fewer than 3.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 170 mph.

The entry fee into this 50-unit family is £62,995 ($98,184), which surprisingly is the exact same base price as the standard Exige V6 Cup.
