Kia Shows off the New-Look Cadenza

Kia’s design language is certainly due for a refresh, as the Tiger Nose grille is great, but it is getting a little stale. Today, Kia showed off its new direction with the introduction of its redesigned 2017 Cadenza, AKA the K7.

As a whole, the Cadenza caries on with a familiar shape, but the automaker made it bolder with its significant nips and tucks here and there. Up front is an all-new interpretation of the Tiger Nose grille, new wraparound headlights, sharper fenders, and a long and sharper hood.
On the rear, Kia squared off the Cadenza’s bumper, added in wider taillights, and punched it up with new chrome accents. All of these not only give the Cadenza a more stunning look, but they also give the model a wider appearance.
The silhouette of the Cadenza also changes for the 2017 model year, as it gains a lower stance, a rising shoulder line, a sweptback roofline, and a sleeker C-pillar.
Kia did not mention the Cadenza’s powertrain, but I suspect we’ll see it either continue with the 293-horsepower 3.3-liter V-6 or gain the 3.8-liter V-6 from the base-level 2016 K900. There is even the possibility of a high-output turbocharged V-6 for a new, rage-topping trim, but I am not holding my breath for that.
There are no specifics as to when the redesigned Cadenza will arrive in dealers, but Kia did mention that it will be sometime in 2016.
We’ll bring you more info on the 2017 Cadenza as it becomes available, so keep it locked here for all the latest.
