Call it blasphemy. Call it a tragedy. Call it whatever you want, but we now have video evidence of BMW’s upcoming 1 Series hatchback that uses a front-wheel-drive platform.
I hesitated to share this video with everyone, what with the potential of young children looking over their parents’ shoulders and witnessing such debauchery, so please watch the above video with care.
You may notice that despite all the camo, the new 1 Series looks pretty slick. No, never mind, I can’t say anything positive about a front-wheel-drive Bimmer. It’s gonna suck on all levels, I already know it. In fact, I won’t ever drive it, just to prove how horrendous it is.
If you think the United States market will be spared this atrocity, it won’t. According to Motor 1, we should get it in the early part of 2019. What a way to kick off the new year. If you don’t want to endure front-wheel drive, springing for the more expensive 1 Series models means you get xDrive instead.
