You might think Ford turbocharged the Mustang to help with fuel economy, but you would be wrong. The EcoBoost model was created for one noble purpose: crazy modifications.

Until now, you had to turn to the aftermarket, and potentially void the manufacturer’s warranty, to squeeze massive power from your EcoBoost Mustang. Ford Performance is now offering an upgrade pack that will boost horsepower to 335 and torque to an astounding 390 lb.-ft. That’s just a mere 10 lb.-ft. of torque off the rating for the stock Mustang GT.

This calibration kit is for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. It pushes out an additional 100 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, versus the stock setup. Not too shabby.

Silly humans who think turbocharging is just a way to get everyone to drive four-cylinder muscle cars should start believing there’s more to these vehicles. American automakers are once again tapping into the wondrous powers of the beloved snail, boosting smaller engines to impressive levels.

If you have an EcoBoost Mustang or want to get one, know this Ford Performance package only costs $699. You need a Ford Performance-authorized dealer to install it so the warranty is still good, but it’s legal in every state.
