As expected, the Miata RF will come at a pretty hefty premium when compared to the standard soft-top model, as it will base from $31,555 for the Club 6MT version – that’s a $2,955 increase over the standard Club 6MT model and $6,640 more than the base-level Miata. For the auto transmission, you’ll have to shell out $32,285. For that fairly large price hike, you get the slick targa top, a 7-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen infotainment system, SiriusXM, Bluetooth connectivity, diagnostics functions, a nine-speaker audio system, and more.

Above this base model are a few more trims, including the Grand Touring 6MT ($32,620), the Grand Touring 6AT ($33,825), the Launch Edition 6MT ($33,850), and the Launch Edition 6AT ($34,925).
Buyers opting for the base Club 6MT model can spice up their ride a little with the Brembo/BBS Package. This upgrade runs $3,400 and includes a front strut-tower brace, side-sill extensions, forged lightweight BBS 17-inch wheels, and Brembo front brakes with larger pads. Other options include Advanced Keyless Entry ($130) and three premium paints: Soul Red Metallic ($300), Machine Gray Metallic ($300), and Crystal White Pearl Metallic ($200).
Production of the Miata RF kicked off on Oct. 5, 2016, but it will not hit showrooms until early 2017.
