After a not-so-hot reception when it debuted in 2010, the Porsche Panamera has become quite the profit driver for the German sports car manufacturer. For the 2016 model year, Porsche is offering a new special-edition Panamera that pushes the base model up a notch without adding too much to the bottom line. The 2016 Panamera Edition is available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive formats. Powering both models is the standard 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine will mate to a dual-clutch transmission.

This drivetrain setup allows the standard model to spring to 60 mph in six seconds (5.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package) and hit a top speed of 160.9 mph. The Panamera 4 Edition is slightly quicker at 5.8 seconds to 60 mph (5.5 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package), but its top speed is lower at 159.7 mph.

Also standard is the Porsche Active Suspension Management for better ride quality and precision handling, as needed.

The big news surrounding the Panamera Edition is its standard equipment. Gloss-black trim strips on the side windows and 19-inch alloy Turbo II wheels help accent the exterior. Also standard on the Panamera Edition are bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System.

The interior of the Panamera Edition also receives some additional standard features. These features include a black-and-Luxor Beige two-tone interior, Park Assist, a rearview camera, a Sport Design steering wheel, “Edition” doorsill plates, exclusive floor mats, a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, a 585-watt Bose audio system with 14 speakers, and 14-way comfort seats with memory and heat.

The Panamera Edition will hit the market in June 2015, with the base model running $80,000 and the Panamera 4 Edition starting at $84,300. For reference, the base Panamera runs $78,100 and the Panamera 4 starts at $82,800.
