2017 Nissan PathfinderThe Nissan Pathfinder has seen extensive changes over its lifetime, including the move from being a rugged body-on-frame SUV to a more sedan-like crossover. For 2017, the Pathfinder will see a significant refresh, including a new look and more power. Today, Nissan has revealed pricing for its significantly refreshed crossover.

The most striking change for the new year is its updated front end. Gone is the blah design from last year and in comes a new look with updated boomerang headlights with available LED technology, LED daytime running lights, a new V-Motion grille, new fog light surrounds, and a sharper hood design. In all, the front end is still familiar, but it simply looks more stylish than before.

Around back, the changes are simpler, as the Pathfinder gets new taillights and an updated bumper.

Inside, the 2017 Pathfinder sees light refreshes, including reshaped cup holders to better receive coffee mugs, and a new Advanced Drive-Assist Display in the center of the instrument panel.

Also new is the 3.5-liter V-6 that cranks out an extra 24 horsepower, putting it at 284 ponies. This power likely plays a hand in the 2017 Pathfinder’s 1,000 extra pounds of towing capacity, which puts it at a total of 6,000 pounds.

As for pricing, Nissan has a bit of a rollercoaster on its hands, as some trims see their prices go up while others fall. The 2017 Pathfinder’s pricing is as follows:

  • Pathfinder S 2WD $29,990 ($210 increase)
  • Pathfinder SV 2WD $32,680 ($420 decrease)
  • Pathfinder SL 2WD $35,700 ($660 decrease)
  • Pathfinder Platinum 2WD $41,870 ($310 increase)
  • Pathfinder S 4WD $31,680 ($210 increase)
  • Pathfinder SV 4WD $34,370 ($420 decrease)
  • Pathfinder SL 4WD $37,390 ($660 decrease)
  • Pathfinder Platinum 4WD $43,560 ($310 increase)

The 2017 Pathfinder should start rolling into showrooms this week.
