For the 2014 model year, Mercedes completely redesigned the S-Class lineup, giving it a striking new look that is miles sportier than the model has ever been. In 2015, it follows the redesign up with the unveiling of an all-new S-Class Coupe that takes the sportier look of the new S-Class and pushes it to new heights.
The 2015 S-Class Coupe comes in three flavors: S550 4MATIC, S63 AMG 4MATIC and S65 AMG. The S550 is your base model, and it features a 4.7-liter, biturbo V-8 that produces 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of twist. With this powerful V-8 in charge and the added launching abilities of all-wheel drive, the S550 can hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
The S63 AMG 4MATIC is a bit hotter, thanks to its 5.5-liter, biturbo V-8 that pushes 577 ponies and 664 pound-feet of twist through an all-wheel-drive system. This drivetrain allows the S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe to hit 60 mph in an astounding 3.9 seconds before topping out at 186 mph.
Lastly, there is the S65 AMG Coupe that carries Mercedes’ 6.0-liter, biturbo V-12 engine that ships 621 horses and 738 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. In this guise, the new coupe hits 60 mph in four seconds and tops out at 186 mph.
The big news of the day is that Mercedes has finally given each of the 2015 S-Class models a price tag. The S550 4MATIC Coupe will start things off at $119,900; the S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe comes up next with a base price of $160,900; and the S65 AMG tops out the range with an entrance fee of $230,900. These prices do not include the $925 delivery fee. The S550 4MATIC Coupe and the S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe will hit dealers in mid-October, and the S65 AMG Coupe will arrive in December.
