Land Rover Teases The New Disco

Few SUVs are as iconic or off-road capable as the Discovery. Land Rover has a lot riding on the reveal of the next generation.

The most concrete thing we’ve seen to date is a picture of the front end, without any camo, released by Land Rover itself. Most notable is the fact that despite being a spacious, full-size, seven-seater SUV, gone is any sense of boxiness. In fact, the design resembles the new Discovery Sport better than the LR4, showing Land Rover isn’t scared of getting a little experimental.
Then, Land Rover released a video of the next Disco going through all kinds of exciting tests: driving through water, traversing uneven surfaces and even careening through snowy landscapes. Of course, the vehicle is clad in camo, but we get a faint look at the finished product. Watch the video below and see for yourself.

Finally, Land Rover turned to children, allowing them to design a unique, hand-crafted camo for a vehicle made to haul them around. The promotional images from this actually pretty brilliant marketing move has given us a surprisingly clear view of the new Discovery, and it looks great. We even get shots of the interior.
The official next-gen Discovery reveal is set for September 28. With all of these clues, expect a pretty compelling SUV that turns over a new leaf for the iconic line. Yes, it’s time to get excited.
