The creators of Forza Motorsport 6 aren’t afraid to test their bounds when creating new expansions for their game. Many of these expansions feature cars, trucks, and vans that have no reason to be on a racing game—the recent release of the Econoline van is one of the silliest examples—but they release them in an almost cheeky manner. Today, a new downloadable pack becomes available, and features a rather unlikely participant in the 2005 Pontiac Aztek.
While the Aztek has its rabid fans—the must have rabies, considering how hard they defend this piece of automotive hideousness—but they are few and far between. Sure, it had some coolness in being one of the first crossovers and having a tent option for the rear, but picturing it trying to race with its half-minivan, half-SUV body and wheezy 185-horsepower 3.4-liter V-6 is ridiculous.
My hat goes off to the folks at Forza for thinking outside the box with this one. Now I need to go dig up my copy of Forza and shell out the $6.99 to download the pack and pound out some laps in one of the original soccer-mom-mobiles.
For those not nearly as excited at the prospect of driving the Aztek like you stole it, there are other, far cooler, cars included in this pack too. These additional rigs include the Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7, the enigmatic 1996 Subaru SVX, the 1967 Sunbeam Tiger, the 1974 Corolla SR5, and the 1992 Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifoglio Verde.
Check out the video below for a look at all the new cars you can get in this pack. What’s great about this video it the fact that the Folks at Forza didn’t try to sell the Aztez as something it isn’t… No spoilers here, just watch it and prepare for a chuckle.
