If you weren’t aware, the new Kia Forte is one of the vehicles debuting in Detroit this year. As you can see above, the little sedan looks anything but boring, which could fill people with all kinds of confusing emotions. I’ll never look at the Forte the same again.
We’re getting a downright breathtaking presentation, with everything appearing quite cohesive. Even Kia’s signature tiger nose grille integrates smoothly with the front fascia in a way that’s highly impressive.
The third edition of the car has a performance edge to it, including large front air intakes and swooping headlights. At the same time, there’s a sophisticated restraint about it. The Kia design team didn’t go crazy with too many flourishes, vents, and other garbage on the body. Honda could really learn something from this.
Of course, we’re looking at renderings. The finished product could be a little different. But, so far, so good. Kia’s design language certainly has grown up lately, showing that the South Koreans can and should be taken seriously.
We’ll get more details, including engineering specs, for the new Forte next week.
