This is the New Porsche Macan

Porsche chose the tech-heavy Chinese city of Shanghai to reveal the next generation of the Macan. In typical Porsche fashion, the company has said the numerous updates will maintain the crossover’s spot as the “flagship in its segment.”

What’s Porsche so confident about? While there are the expected cosmetic changes, which make it that much more attractive, the Macan has also gained full LED lighting as standard equipment. With the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, you can switch to adaptive control. While that’s not too crazy for today, an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen in such a small vehicle is a little more impressive. Online navigation and intelligent voice control also come standard.

Thanks to a tightened-up chassis, Porsche says the new Macan handles better. It also claims comfort has improved considerably. Different tire widths for the front and back are still part of the setup.

The list of new equipment doesn’t stop there. Among the options is an air ionizer that helps keep the interior smelling fresh, while a heated windshield helps with winter conditions. A traffic jam assist comes in handy when you’re traveling anywhere in southern California, among many other areas. You also get to grip the same GT sports steering wheel from the 911.

Just for good measure, Porsche has even thrown in some interesting interior color schemes. One is called Crayon. Another is Mamba Green Metallic. These are great ways of rejecting a black interior with brushed aluminum trim, because that’s just boring.
