The Aston Martin Vanquish holds a special place in any gearhead’s heart as one of the sexiest grand tourers in the world. Oh, and it’s pretty dang quick too. But it’s lacked a little something, and that’s Aston’s famed “S” badge. Recently, Aston Martin finally ended that drought with the introduction of the new Vanquish S.

The Vanquish S, of course, feature the same swoopy and looks-fast-sitting-there appearance of the standard Vanquish, but it’s set off by a few unique bits. These include its more aggressive front splitter and rear diffuser, crafted from exposed carbon fiber, and striking new exhaust outlets. Buyers can further set their models apart with the available carbon-fiber hood louvers, five-spoke diamond-turned wheels, and graphics packages.

The interior is also upgradable with “Filograph” quilted leather, a “satin chopped” carbon-fiber fascia, Bridge of Weir Caithness leather, and more.

Under its hood, the Vanquish S features Aston’s 6.0-liter V-12 engine, but its output is now at 580 horsepower (up 12 horses) thanks to its new intake system. This power heads through an eight-speed Touchtronic III transmission on its way to the rear wheels. Together, this gets this new GT to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds (0.1 seconds quicker) and up to 201 mph.

Power isn’t everything to Aston Martin, as it also massaged the Vanquish’s chassis when adding the “S” badge. This new rig includes retuned damper internals, spring rates, and anti-roll bars to improve its agility.

The Vanquish S will be available in either coupe or Volante (Aston-ese for “convertible”). Pricing will start from $249,950, and it will start rolling into dealers in April 2017.
