In the past decade, the minivan segment has been relatively ignored thanks to the explosion of crossovers. This is all about to change as Chrysler is making a power move to change the way people look at the segment with its new Pacifica. Today, the automaker solidified the fact that the Pacifica is primed to take hold of this dying segment with its aggressive pricing and premium features.

The 2017 Pacifica will start out at just $28,595, putting it right in the middle of the minivan pack. This starting price puts you in the seat of the LX trim level which includes Stow ‘n Go seating, a power driver’s seat, active noise cancellation, a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, a review camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, and more.

Next on the trim level list is the Touring model, which bases at $30,495. This scratch adds in SiriusXM radio, power sliding doors, passive entry on all doors, and auto headlights.

Moving into the Touring-L trim puts the price at $34,495. With this, you get leather seating, heated first-row seats, remote start, tri-zone auto climate control, projector headlights, fog lights, chrome trim, a power liftgate, and safety features like ParkSense rear park assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection.

The next trim level is the Touring-L Plus which starts at $37,895. This extra money gets you a 7-inch driver’s information display, a heated steering wheel, a power passenger’s seat, passenger-side Stow ‘n Go Assist, heated second-row seats, a 13-speaker Alpine audio system and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.

Finally, the range-topping Limited trim level starts from $42,995. This model brings the Pacifica to a level of luxury typically reserved for more premium brands. These premium features include power seats and mirrors with memory function, Nappa leather upholstery, power third-row seats, ventilated front seats, 3D navigation, Stow ‘n Vac integrated vacuum, HID headlights, LED fog lights, power-folding mirrors, hands-free sliding doors, and front and rear panoramic moonroofs.

Needless to say, the Pacifica has something to offer nearly every level of minivan shopper. The only thing it really lacks is a super-cheap package like the Grand Caravan had in the American Value Package.

The 2017 Pacifica will hit showrooms in the spring of 2016 and the hybrid model will arrive in the second half of 2016. Pricing for the latter will likely arrive in a few months. Stay tuned for more info.
