Tesla Fans Gear Up For Model 3 Reveal

The Model 3 is perhaps the vehicle that will define Tesla for years, maybe even decades to come, like the Model T for Ford. That’s why the big reveal on March 31 is generating massive excitement.

There’s plenty of speculation about what the budget-friendly EV will look like and what features it will have. At this point with the reveal so close, those don’t matter anymore. Tesla’s about to make history and everyone will be watching.

Reservations for the Model 3 start opening up on Thursday morning, even though the car won’t be officially revealed until that evening. Thanks to Green Car Reports snagging one of the agreements early, we know buyers only need to put down $1,000 to reserve their spot.

The best way to reserve the Model 3 is to go to a Tesla store when it opens on March 31. Some people are already camping out at stores. You can also do it online, but will have to wait until the unveiling starts.

The reservation agreement reportedly says that the Model 3 might not be delivered until late 2017 or even beyond. Tesla doesn’t exactly have a great track record with getting new vehicles out the door on time, so if you want a crack at the Model 3, be patient.

Once it comes time to start officially selling the Model 3, preference will be given to current Tesla owners. That might seem unfair to some, but it’s the company’s way of thanking people who’ve helped it get this far.
