Tesla’s not messing around when it comes to air pollution. Not only is it pushing for greener cars, it’s also made a HEPA cabin air filter that surpasses anything else in the auto industry.

Pretty much nothing harmful will get into your Tesla, so you can drive past smelly dairy farms, through Los Angeles or even visit Chernobyl without getting a wiff of anything funny.

For Elon Musk, who just might be the real-life Tony Stark, that isn’t good enough. Tesla also created a Bioweapon Defense Mode for the Model X. It sounds extreme, because that’s exactly what it is: extreme protection. The company tested it by putting a vehicle in a bubble, then pumping it full of pollution. Not only does the system clean the air inside the vehicle, it will actually begin to create a bubble of clean air around it.

Why anyone in a developed area of the world would ever need to deploy this mode is beyond me, because if you’re driving through those kinds of conditions, civilization is pretty much over. But from behind the Falcon Wing doors you can watch everyone else die, knowing that your luxury electric crossover saved you from the same doom.

Tesla is including Bioweapon Defense Mode in the new Model S, plus the upcoming Model 3. These will be the new ultimate zombie apocalypse vehicles, so the question is how long before someone decorates one with fake bloody handprints?
