Ford has yet to produce an answer for the Challenger and Charger Hellcats, and it likely never will produce such a car. However, Steve Saleen and his crazy band of engineers over at Saleen Automotive sure aren’t scared to go toe to toe with the mighty Hellcat, and they are showing it with the new S302 Black Label.

Under the hood is where most of the Hellcat slaying takes place, as the S302 boasts the typical 5.0-liter Coyote engine that all 2015 Mustang GTs have. However, this one has its power turned up to 730 horses and 600 pound-feet of torque by way of a 2.8-liter twin-screw supercharger strapped to it.

With that much power in tow, there needs to be some extra love given to the handling and braking. So, Saleen added the S4 springs, shocks, sway bars and bushings to the S302 Black Label’s chassis, and it upgraded the brake system to 15-inch dimpled rotors with multi-piston calipers that, in Saleen’s words “brings the car back down from hyperspeed.” Putting rubber to road are 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped up in 245/35R20 tires up front and 275/40R20 tires out back.

Saleen also spent some time optimizing the aerodynamic kit on the S302. Saleen increased the length of the body by 1.5 inches on the front and rear and added 2 inches to the airfoil to help maximize downforce. On the rear sits the traditional Saleen rear spoiler. Smatterings of carbon-fiber bits chime in as well, helping reduce the car’s curb weight.

Inside the cabin, Saleen went all out with black leather and suede seats that feature contrasting chevrons. It also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel with controls mounted on it. There are also Saleen badges throughout and a plaque with the car’s serial number and manufacture year.

The S302 Black Label is available for order now from select Ford dealers or from Saleen.com. This model will set you back $73,214.
