Nissan Reveals U.S.-Spec GT-R Track Edition

Earlier, Nissan unveiled the 2017 GT-R Premium and GT-R NISMO, and now it’s time for the lineup to grow by one. And this new model will have its official U.S. debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

Known as the GT-R Track Edition, this new Godzilla will slot between the Premium and NISMO models, giving the GT-R a nice ‘tweener car to satisfy all buyers.

This rig will roll in with the same powertrain as the GT-R Premium: the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 with 565 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque. Handling the shifting duties will be the standard six-speed dual-clutch transmissions. From the NISMO model, however, this new GT-R will gain additional body adhesive and spot welding for a more rigid shell, an advanced four-wheel independent suspension with NISMO tuning, and NISMO-spec rubber.

On the outside, the Track Edition will also gain the NISMO front fenders, 20-inch NISMO forged aluminum-alloy wheels, and a dry carbon-fiber rear spoiler.

The cabin will have a special red-and-black theme, motorsport-inspired front seats, NissanConnect with Navigation, an 8-inch captive touchscreen, and a Bose sound system with Active Noise Cancellation.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition will hit showrooms in late-Summer 2016. It will start from $127,990.
