Nissan Reveals Slightly Higher Price for Refreshed 2016 Altima
Earlier this month, Nissan revealed the restyled 2016 Altima to the world. This new look took the midsize sedan, which stood out like a sore thumb in Nissan’s updated lineup, and brought it into line with the brand’s other models. Today, Nissan has revealed the Altima’s pricing details and a few extra bits of info on the vehicle.
The 2016 Altima will be available in a whopping seven trim levels, but most of them carry over from last year. The carryover trims include the 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, and 3.5 SL. The newcomers to the 2016 model year are the SR models, which are available with either the 182-horsepower 2.5-liter engine or the 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6. Regardless of engine option, the Altima uses an Xtronic CVT with D-Step Logic to simulate the gear shifts of a traditional automatic.
The SR models inject a touch of sportiness into the sedan, giving it a look it hasn’t had through the years. These new trims gain 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, smoked headlights, paddle shifters, a rear spoiler, sporty interior accents, and a retuned suspension. The 2.5 SR starts from $24,470, while the 3.5 SR bases from $27,390.
Below the 2.5 SR model are the 2.5 at $22,500 and the 2.5 S at $22,900. Above the 2.5 SR are the $25,460 2.5 SV and the $28,570 2.5 SL. Topping off the 2016 Altima lineup is the 3.5 SL trim level, which bases from $32,090.
Nissan has yet to announce exactly when the 2016 Altima will make its way to dealers, but my best guess will be around the middle of November. Stay tuned for more details on the restyled Altima.
