The Nissan Sentra entered its seventh generation in the fall of 2012, and though the lineup no longer includes a halo version, like the SE-R, it is still a top-seller in its class. This status is expected to continue into the 2015 model year as Nissan has just unveiled the pricing and updates for the new model year.

The 2015 Sentra lineup will include six distinct trim levels: S 6MT, S Xtronic, FE+ S Xtronic, SV Xtronic, SR Xtronic, and SL Xtronic. These trim levels start at $16,480, $17,330, $17,730, $18,300, $19,910, and $20,670, respectively, not including the $825 destination and handling charge. Overall, the 2015 Sentra carries over nearly unchanged, but within the trim levels, buyers will notice small changes in equipment.

The changes in equipment start out at the base S trim level, which now includes a standard USB connection, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Smart Auto Headlights, and cruise control. Moving into the SV trim level, the changes include the Nissan Intelligent Key, a rearview camera, NissanConnect with Mobile Apps, a five-inch color display, SiriusXM capabilities, a sliding front armrest, Bluetooth streaming audio, hands-free text messaging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob, Smart Auto Headlights, and the why-no-other-automaker-offers-this Easy-Fill Tire Alert.

The trim level that receives the most comprehensive changes for 2015 is the resident “sports” model: the SR. The new additions to the SR trim include a leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob, heated front seats, heated mirrors, mirror-mounted LED turn signals, rear disc brakes, Nissan Intelligent Key, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with a five-inch color display, and SiriusXM capabilities.

Finally, the range-topping SL trim level receives new-for-2015 standard leather seats, heated front seats, and an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink.

Beyond the new features spread throughout the trim levels, Nissan also added four new exterior colors to the 2015 Sentra lineup, bringing the total available colors to 11. The new colors include Titanium Red Alert (available only on the SR trim), Cayenne Red, and Fresh Powder.

The 2015 Sentra is available now at Nissan dealers, but as of January 2, 2015, only the 2014 model is showing on Nissan’s website.
