Mitsubishi Gussies Up the Outlander Sport With a New Limited Edition Trim
The Outlander Sport is the top-selling model for Mitsubishi, but that’s not saying much for a company that sold fewer than 100,000 units altogether in 2016. But, the struggling automaker keeps trying, and it’s now adding a new, more value-oriented trim to Outlander Sport lineup.
This new trim, known as the Limited Edition,
will sit just above the base ES trim and have a handful of upgrades. On the outside, these updates include an alloy fuel door, black-painted mirrors, black 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, HID headlights, and Limited Edition badges. As for color options, this trim will have the full range of the Outlander Sport’s available hues.
Inside, the Limited Edition model has black fabric upholstery, red accent stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift knob and brake lever (all exclusive to the LE trim), aluminum pedals, heated front seats, and a display audio system with Smartphone Link for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
While this, in no way, makes the Outlander Sport a “premium” vehicle, it does add a new twist to the lineup while maintaining an affordable price.
The 2017 Outlander Sport Limited Edition will be in showrooms later in February. It will start from $21,995. Don’t take its “Limited Edition” name to heart, either, as it will be available through the entire model year.
