Mini has announced that its Hardtop and Hardtop 4 Door models can be outfitted with a new Sport Pack. The bundle of equipment helps give a sportier edge to the car by borrowing from the looks of the recently revealed John Cooper Works edition of the new generation. That means items like an aero kit, 17-inch black or silver alloy wheels, and a roof spoiler are added to the car. The bad piece of news is that so far the company has not said that the Sport Pack will be available to consumers in the United States. That does not mean the option will not come to America, just that for now it’s up in the air.

Not only does the Mini Sport Pack make a regular Hardtop model look more like the $30,000-plus John Cooper Works without the inflated price tag, it adds some other performance upgrades. The package includes a more aggressive suspension setup plus the Excitement Pack and Driving Modes. Through the Driving Modes system, drivers will be able to tweak the engine acoustics, steering response, transmission shift points (with the automatic tranny), accelerator behavior, and other items to suit personal preference.

The interior of the car also gains some features with the Sport Pack. Cloth and leather trim make for a more upscale feel, along with an anthracite headliner, piano black accent trim pieces, and the multi-function steering wheel from the John Cooper Works model.

To help ensure that the Sport Pack does make an appearance in the United States, it wouldn’t hurt if Mini fans contact the brand and let it know how they feel.
