Mildly Updated BMW M2 Images Leaked

Since debuting in 2016, the BMW M2 has been heralded as almost a back-to-roots model for the Bavarian automaker, and I am not going to disagree. Though it’s still new, BMW will release a mildly updated M2 in 2018. And now, a few pictures of this new-look M2 accidentally made their way to the internet.

Thanks to the crafty folks at BimmerToday, we can present these images to you.

As you can see, the updates to the 2018 M2 will be very much blink and you’ll miss it. Up front, you can make out the lightly updated headlights that better match the units in big brothers, the M3 and M4. Around back, the changes are equally small, as the taillights get a very mild graphics update.

BimmerToday wasn’t able to get any interior shots, but all reports indicate the new M2’s cabin will remain unchanged, save for an upgraded infotainment system.

The greasy bits will remain completely unchanged. These include a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. With its standard six-speed manual transmission, this M-tuned coupe will launch to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.

Fortunately, we shouldn’t have to wait too long, as reports indicate BMW will release the new M2 (and the entire 2 Series) next week.

Keep it locked here for updates.
