Mercedes Announces New Editions Of The SL And SLC

We’re getting new hot editions of Mercedes’ two roadsters, just in time for the warm weather. Each one brings a new sense of flair, if that’s your sort of thing.

First up is the SLC RedArt Edition. Shoppers will be able to get the usual engine lineup, plus an exclusive designo iridium silver magno matt exterior, so everyone knows it’s not a regular SLC. There are six other paint colors. Red accents on the exterior and interior add a sporty vibe, like a red front splitter or red finds on the rear wing. Topping off the exterior looks are 18-inch five twin-spoke light-alloy wheels with a high-sheen tremolite metallic finish.

Interior appointments include a dark carbon grain for the aluminum trim pieces, a two-tone Nappa leather upholstery and Airscarf vents in the seats. AMG models gain even more flourishes, like a checkered flag design in the gauge cluster.

Then there’s the SL designo Edition, which is supposed to be more exclusive. Among the exterior tweaks is a metallic brilliant blue paint job, AMG 10-spoke forged wheels and chrome flecks in the front apron.

You’ll likely never sit in this super-exclusive model, but know the interior supposed to wow everyone. There’s porcelain and black designo nappa leather upholstery, a Dinamica porcelain designo headliner, and even white seatbelts. Pretty much, no child with a cup of chocolate pudding will be allowed within 100 yards of this car.

The SL designo Edition is available for the SL 400 and SL 500.
