Just yesterday, I brought you the initial details on what appeared to be a new supercar from McLaren dubbed the 675LT, and now I am here to tell you it is confirmed. Shortly after posting my piece, McLaren launched a press release stating that the 675LT was indeed the car in question and that it’ll debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Despite the confirmation, many of the details behind the car remain under some cover for now.

Accompanying the press release is a single teaser image (above) and a teaser video (below) that show nothing more than a wheel with the words “675LT” painted on them and a set of McLaren brake calipers. The press release also confirms that the “675” in the name does indicate the amount of power (675 PS) this beast will unleash onto the world. In U.S. currency, that amounts out to a rather sinister 666 horsepower.

McLaren also confirms that the “LT” in the title does stand for Longtail,” which explains the extra length this revised 650S has on its derriere. The Longtail name suggests that the 675LT will have a heavy dose of aerodynamic awesomeness, massive amounts of downforce and a reduced weight – some rumors point toward as much as several hundred pounds less than the 650S.

The McLaren 675LT will join the existing 650S and the Asia-only 625C as the most powerful, lightest and quickest model within the newly named McLaren Super Series, which also adds a little extra logic to the oddly named Sports Series models that McLaren is currently working on.

The rest of the details on the 675LT remain behind McLarens veil of secrecy, but it did mention that the model will only be available as a coupe, and nearly every rumor suggests that production will be very limited.
