Jaguar Reveals its F-Type British Design Edition

The F-Type has been wildly popular among buyers and experts alike, thanks to its distinctly British design and phenomenal drivetrain that now includes available all-wheel drive. Today, Jaguar has announced that it’ll release a new special edition that celebrates its British roots. This model is appropriately named the British Design Edition.

The F-Type British Design Edition, which will apparently only be available in the U.K., will be based on the V6 S AWD model. This means it will be available with a 3.0-liter V-6 that cranks out 380 horsepower and delivers it to all four wheels by way of an eight-speed auto transmission. This will result in a 4.9-second sprint to 60 mph and a top speed of 171 mph.

While its powertrain is identical to the standard F-Type V6 S AWD, its looks are where the British Design Edition sets itself apart. This sports car’s stunning body is available in colors that were inspired by the Union Jack: Caldera Red, Glacier White, and Ultra Blue (new to the F-Type range). For buyers looking for a little less pop, Ultimate Black is also available. The body is also enhanced by the Sport Design Pack, which includes a gloss-black front splitter, body-colored side sill extensions and rear venture, and exclusive badges.

On the corners of the F-Type British Design Edition are 20-inch Cyclone wheels coated in a Satin Dark Grey. These rollers are wrapped up in 2255/35R20 and 295/30R20 tires on the front and rear, respectively. Behind these wheels is an upgraded braking system for enhanced stopping power.

The British Design Edition treatment continues inside the F-Type, as Jag installed Jet leather with red, ivory or blue contrast stitching, 14-way sport seats with British Design Edition embossing on the headrests, and carbon-fiber trim on the center console.

The Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition will hit dealers in the U.K. starting in the spring of 2016. It will start from £75,225 ($110,400) for the coupe and £80,390 ($117,980) for the convertible.
