GMC Adds Carbon Editions to its 2015 Sierra Lineup
Trucks aren’t simple workhorses anymore, and GMC is embracing this by releasing a series of special Carbon Edition Sierras. There are three versions of the 2015 Sierra Carbon Edition: Carbon Edition, Carbon 20 Edition and Carbon 22 Edition.
GMC based the standard Carbon Edition on the Sierra double cab but added in a few extra touches to the pickup to set it apart. These touches include a black-painted grille, carbon-fiber graphics on the hood and tailgate, body-colored door handles and mirror caps, keyless entry, a 110-volt power outlet, and LED cargo-bed lighting.
The Carbon 20 Edition model mimics the standard Carbon edition, but it is only available with the Sierra SLE double cab and adds in a set of 20-inch, aluminum-alloy wheels.
The Carbon 22 Edition tops off the range by building upon the base Carbon Edition. This model is offered only on Sierra SLE models in double cab or crew cab setups and adds in 22-inch black-painted alloy wheels, black-painted tubular assist steps, fog lights, keyless start, a Universal Home Remote and dual-zone climate control.
Other than the trim level and cab restrictions, buyers can opt for either the new 285-horsepower, 4.3-liter, EcoTec3 V-6 or the 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter, EcoTec3 V-8. The Carbon Editions are also available in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive.
The base Sierra 1500 Carbon Edition checks in at $33,075, which makes it $1,880 more than the base Sierra. The Carbon 20 Edition comes in at $38,275 and the Carbon 22 Edition bases at $42,270 including destination, which makes the two $1,975 and $5,970 more than their respective base models. Double-cab models are available for order immediately, and crew-cab models will be available in early October.
