Ferrari Releases Topless Pics of the LaFerrari

There were rumors that Ferrari wasn’t done improving the LaFerrari, but we hear that sort of buzz all the time. Today, the Italian automaker has proved that there was another trick up this hybrid supercar’s sleeve with the unveiling of a new topless model.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the LaFerrari convertible. This beast boasts all the same goodies as the standard LaFerrari, including its V-12 powerplant that churns out 789 horsepower and another 161 ponies coming from an electric motor for a grand total of 950 horsepower, but the driver can now remove the top and feel the power flowing through their hair. There are no exact performance numbers at this point, but the convertible LaFerrari should perform similar to the coupe version, including its 0-to-124 mph sprint time of less than seven seconds, 0-to-62 mph time of less than three seconds, and top speed in excess of 217 mph.

The one area where a convertible top hurts is rigidity, and Ferrari solved this through extensive tweaks to the chassis to up the stiffness. In addition to upping the rigidity, Ferrari also played around with the aerodynamics of this drop top to assure that it has the same drag ratings as its coupe sibling.

Ferrari has yet to announce how much this rig costs and how many it will produce, but it did let the world know that it is already sold out. Stay tuned for updates.
