You may not be too familiar with David Brown Automotive, but in May 2014, it released the Speedback GT, which shares its platform with the Jaguar XK, in Europe only. This left wealthy Americans out in the cold, but today DBA has announced that it will offer its exclusive GT car in the U.S. in 2015.

The Speedback GT will make its American debut on August 10th during The Quail Welcome Rally Reception. Following the reception, it will participate in The Quail Rally on August 12th and 13th, then it will have its own stand at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on August 14th.

American pricing remains uncertain at this time, but in the UK, the Speedback GT commands a healthy sum of £495,000, which converts out to around $782,000. Typically, cars coming from the UK to the U.S. do not directly convert over from pounds to dollars, so look for the price to fall closer to $600k when it hits our shores.

Other than it classic looks with modern amenities, the Speedback GT is also quite the performer. It carries a Jaguar-sourced 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 that is good for 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque. This results in a 0-to-60 time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.

There is no mention of when exactly DBA will start offering the Speedback GT in the U.S., but I figure it will start taking preorders during The Quail event in August, with deliveries coming shortly after.

We’ll bring you more details and pricing information as DBA releases it.
