As much as I had a bad taste in my mouth from the antics of one Jeremy Clarkson, I knew that Chris Evans had massive shoes to fill as his replacement on Top Gear. Apparently, Evans has had enough with trying to fill those shoes as he announced via Twitter that he was leaving the show after just one season.

While the big shoes of Clarkson were likely tough for Evans to fill, he added to this issue by acting like a prima donna on the set, not being great at driving and talking, and never developing a relationship—at least not a good one—with his co-hosts. The latter was the latest of rumors to come from the Top Gear camp, as Matt LeBlanc supposedly threatened to quit the show if Evans wasn’t fired.

On top of all of this, despite taking on a successful show that had a massive fan base that was still mourning the loss of the original cast, Evans Mocked the original show in his first episode, rubbing fans the wrong way.

So basically, Evans was Clarkson without the talent…

The future of Top Gear is, once again, up in the air. Will the show fade away after one season? Will the existing cast continue the show? Will the BBC launch another open casting call to replace the exited Evans? Only time will tell.
