We are drawing ever closer to the May 16th reveal of the 2016 Camaro, and every few days, Chevy releases a little more information. Today is obviously the day to show of the Camaro’s enhanced aerodynamics, as Chevy revealed images of the new muscle car’s roofline and grille, and it released information about it meticulous testing process.

The roofline is by far the most striking part of this latest release, as it gives us a great look at the car’s silhouette. The standard Camaro cues are still intact, like the rear haunches and the sexy bodylines, but it will feature more of a fastback look, which will help it cut through the wind.

Along with the revised roofline, Chevy also highlights some of its more under-the-skin changes. A part of this is tweaking of the lower grille bars from a 20-degree angle to a 13-degree angle in order to improve cooling airflow by 1 percent while maintaining the original grille design.

Another goal for Chevy was to decrease aerodynamic lift along with cutting drag. To kill two birds with a single stone, Chevy is installing a flush belly pan that stretches from the front grille to the middle of the body and small “spats” just ahead of the front tires. These two items eliminate the need for a front splitter by reducing under-body lift by 30 percent and reducing aerodynamic drag.

These are just a few of the many changes in store, according to Chevy, as the automaker looks to reduce drag, decrease lift, and lower wind noise. We’ll learn all about the changes soon enough, so keep it locked here for all of the latest details.
