Anticipation has been high for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, which will launch a new generation of the iconic pony car. While the entire car still hasn’t been revealed, GM has released information about some key systems.

Owners will be able to use the new Drive Mode Selector to adjust eight different aspects of the car to suit various conditions and preferences. All models will come with Tour, Sport and Snow/Ice settings. The SS will also feature a Track setting for hardcore performance. The new technology means that the car will be better suited for a variety of uses, such as going out on the open road for hours at a time, versus driving on crowded urban streets and rocketing around on a race track.

Another big change is that the Camaro SS will come with Magnetic Ride Control. The active damping system was on available on the Camaro ZL1. Drivers will be able to choose one of three settings, which then affect handling and ride. The dampers adjust constantly, based on road conditions and driver inputs, taking readings 1,000 times per second. The technology has been used successfully on the Corvette C7, mixing comfort with razor-sharp performance.

The third big announcement for the 2016 Chevy Camaro is that an enhanced dual-mode exhaust system will be made available. Valves inside the exhaust system are controlled electronically, allowing drivers to send the exhaust flow on a pathway that skips out on the mufflers for better performance. That, of course, also means the car will be louder. If someone needs to drive around in relative silence, they can just select the stealth mode. Other settings will be available, suiting different situations.

The final big revelation is a new photo that shows the 6.2-liter V-8 engine for the new Camaro SS. The photo shows that the LT1 features a huge oil cooler that’s located on one side of the oil pan. This feature is supposed to support driving the vehicle hard on a track lap after lap.

The full reveal of the 2016 Camaro is set for May 16.
