Check Out The Alfa Romeo Stelvio
We knew Alfa Romeo was going to unleash a crossover based on the same platform as the Giulia. Now the Stelvio is out in full view, and it’s pretty awesome.
You’ll be able to get a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-banger with MultiAir tech on this thing, which pushes out 280 horsepower and 306 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s not too shabby, especially for a crossover. A carbon-fiber driveshaft and ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, plus all-wheel drive are part of the standard setup, adding more promise.
The Quadrifoglio model uses a 2.9-liter biturbo V-6, which is an absolute beast with 505 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. That should be enough power to get you into trouble all the time, or you’re not driving the vehicle how it was intended. Carbon fiber shell Sparco racing seats help add lightness, while ultra-high performance carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes hopefully help you to not crash.
You can get all kinds of Italian luxury goodness for the interior. But the really important takeaway here is that the Stelvio is a land rocket you can justify buying because it has a fair amount of cargo, and promises to be practical. But really it’s fun on four wheels.
