7. 2017 Genesis G90
At one point, Hyundai tried separating its Equus sedan from the rest of its lineup at dealers, but that didn’t work out too well. Now, the automaker is taking a different approach by creating a whole new sub-brand called Genesis. Its debut model, the G90, is basically a new-generation Equus and is sure to deliver near-$100k luxury for dramatically less dough.
Like the Equus, the G90 has available to it Hyundai’s 5.0-liter Tau V-8 that cranks out 420 horsepower. New to the Hyundai group is the G90’s base twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 with 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of twist. While the G90 is plenty potent, Hyundai tuned it to deliver comfort thanks to its smooth eight-speed transmission and Adaptive Control Suspension.
