Callaway Cars Creates a 757-Horsepower Corvette Z06
Callaway is famous for the work it has performed on Corvettes over the years, and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Today, the tuner extraordinaire has revealed its most powerful Corvette tune to date.
This new package is designed for the Corvette Z06, and it pushes the already awesome sports car to new, atmospheric levels of power. Thanks to an enlarged supercharger (2,300 cc vs. 1,740 cc), a triple-element intercooler system, and a high-flow air-intake system, the Callaway-tuned Corvette Z06 produces an insane 757 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 777 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. This adds up to gains of 107 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque over the base Z06.
This added power results in slight boosts in on-the-road performance, as this Callaway-tweaked Corvette Z06 can hit 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and can run the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds at 131 mph. Those numbers add up to a 0.1-second quicker 0-to-60 time and a 0.45-second quicker quarter-mile time with a 4 mph faster trap speed.
On top of the performance mods, the Callaway Z06 also has some visual upgrades that set it apart. These include a hood surround to cover the sides of the larger, exposed supercharger, new carbon-fiber engine mid-covers, special badges inside and out, Callaway anodized aluminum doorsill panels, Callaway embroidered floor mats, an under-hood plaque with the VIN, and special Callaway key fobs.
To secure your purchase, you also get an authenticity document packet and a 3-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty.
There are a few options for buyers who want a more exclusive Callaway Z06. These options include a short-throw shifter, a 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, a sport exhaust system with double-D tips, an embroidered car cover, and delivery at the Corvette museum.
These special Z06s are available at select Chevrolet dealerships nationwide for an extra $16,995 on top of the MSRP. This bump in price would put a base Callaway-tuned Z06 at about $96,000 (based on 2015 pricing), which isn’t too bad for a 757-horsepower sports car.
