BMW Teases the 7 Series and its Self-Parking Feature Again

Another day and another teaser video for the upcoming redesigned BMW 7 Series. This time, the video focuses solely on the model’s remote-controlled parking feature, which the other teaser videos have touched upon.

This video shows a man standing outside of a simulated garage, as his 7er pulls itself into the tight-fitting port. While this feature seems really cool on the surface, I was am still waiting for something more like what we saw at the 2015 CES.

At CES, BMW showed off a system that would actually hunt down a spot, park the car, secure the doors, then return to you all using a smartwatch. This system looks more like the same BMW Park Assistant that we all know, minus the human intervention.

This is a great advancement in the realm of autonomous driving, but I am looking for more from BMW. Maybe it has a few wildcards in store for us between now and the debut of the new 7 Series.

There is still plenty of time for BMW to reveal more information on this system, as the new 7 Series and its new Carbon Core construction are not set to debut until the Frankfurt Auto Show in the fall of 2015.
