For a while now, it’s been well-known that BMW is making an M2 Coupe, even though the automaker has been silent about the upcoming model. Information that the European-spec model will start up production in November has been floating around for a little bit, but just recently a leak revealed that the US-spec performance car will start up production in November as well.

Someone took a screenshot at an unspecified BMW dealership and sent it to enthusiast site BimmerPost. On the screen is a build list for numerous 2 Series models. Smack in the middle is the M2 Coupe, confirming that it will start production in November of this year. That means the car will likely launch in the early part of 2016, instead of production starting in March of 2016 as previously believed. As a result, the M2 Coupe is hitting dealers earlier than originally expected, which is excellent news for fans.

More juicy details about the BMW M2 Coupe have been leaking as well. The information is of course unconfirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. The car is supposed to be powered by the N55 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, but it has been modified to put out about 380 horsepower. That figure outdoes the M235i, which is currently the most powerful 2 Series model, and the 1 Series M, which is an enthusiasts’ favorite. With that kind of performance ability, the M2 Coupe should be another runaway hit for BMW as soon as it hits showroom floors.

Even though spy photos of the upcoming M2 Coupe have been floating around online for quite some time, nobody has seen what it looks like without any camo. That probably won’t be the case much longer since a production version of the car is rumored to be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, which is set for March. There is still a possibility that BMW will hold off until the Frankfurt Motor Show in September to show off the car. Some rumors even claim that BMW will unveil the new model online first, perhaps sometime in August.
