Battle of The Full-size Trucks 2013
Comparison #2: Towing
When properly equipped, a Nissan Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds. With the V6 engine, a Ram 1500 can only tow up to 6,500 pounds. Outfitting the truck with the 5.7-liter V8 engine increases towing capacity to a much better 10,450 pounds, but still not quite as much as the competing full-size pickup trucks outfitted with V8 engines. With the largest engine choice and four-wheel-drive, a Toyota Tundra can tow up to 10,400 pounds. The top towing capacity of the Silverado 1500 comes in just above that at 10,700 pounds. The Ford F-150’s towing capacity when outfitted with the monstrous 6.2-liter V8 engine or surprisingly the twin-turbo V6 engine tops out at 11,300 pounds to land the truck in the top spot for towing ability.
