If you haven’t heard of Zenos yet, I can’t really fault you, as it is a small U.K.-based company that specializes in nothing but cranking out lightweight, track-ready cars. Its first car, the E10, was an insane exercise in see just how light the automaker could make it. Today, Zenos has announced that it is now focusing on upping the power in its lightweight E10 with the new E10 R.

There wasn’t much Zenos could do to make the E10 lighter when creating the R version of it, but it didn’t just rest on its laurels. Instead, the automaker created special wheels just for this model that are pounds lighter than the E10 S’ standard rollers. These wheels combine with the existing Zenos hybrid chassis to keep its dry weight at just 1,543 pounds.

While the lighter wheels are great for unsprung weight reduction, the real news is in what powers the R-badged E10. Under its hood is a Ford-sourced 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 350 horsepower and 349 pound-feet of torque. The power routes through a six-speed manual transmission on its way to the rear wheels.

With a power-to-weight ratio of just 500 horsepower per metric ton, the E10 R is one hell of a performer. Zenos estimates that it’ll hit 60 mph in as few as three seconds and top out at a whopping 155 mph.

In the handling department, the E10 R gets new ventilated rotors up front that are squeezed by four-piston calipers to go along with revised damper and spring rates. These changes should combine nicely with the reduced unsprung weight to deliver impressive manners in the corners.

The E10 R also receives a few updates inside its cabin to set it apart. In here, you’ll find a new short-throw gear shifter, standard twin-skin composite seats, and five-point racing harnesses.

To give the new E10 R a proper kickoff, Zenos is releasing a limited Drive Edition model. This version features a black anodized finish on its aluminum spine (inside the cabin), satin-black front and rear splitters, satin-black side singlets, Charged Graphite exterior hue, six-point harnesses, Carbon leather trim, carbon-fiber seats, and quick-release steering wheel. Performance-wise, this model has adjustable dampers and upgraded master cylinders.

The Zenos E10 R checks in at a £39,995 ($60,495) and is available for order now in the U.K. Buyers looking to get their hands on the Drive Edition model will need to shell out £43,995 ($66,545) and hope they are one of the lucky ones to get their hands on one of the 15 examples Zenos will offer.
