Volkswagen Has a New Four-Door Coupe Coming Soon

Volkswagen is doing what it can to stay afloat now and in the future. With this comes a complete reworking of its lineup. First came the Atlas crossover, which will finally give the brand an affordable people mover between the outrageously expensive Touareg and the tiny Tiguan. Now, it appears as if the brand is primed to release the successor to the CC next year.

Dubbed the Arteon, which really isn’t a shabby name for VW, all we know about the look of this model is in the below teaser video. In this short flick, we can see an artist carefully drawing out the lines that will make up this new four-port coupe. It will clearly feature a sleek roofline that’ll look great but not be the greatest for rear-seat passengers and a front end that is modern and somewhat Audi-like.

What will power this new coupe remains to be seen, but chances are we’ll see engines closely mimicking the next-gen Passat. This likely means we’ll see a base turbocharged four-pot and possibly an optional V-6 engine. Of course, diesel will be out of the question in the U.S., but there is a good possibility for a hybrid or electric powertrain.

The only other information Volkswagen made readily available is that the model will make its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and will hit showrooms that summer. Of course, pricing will come as we near that release date, but we do know that this new model will command a premium relative to the current CC as VW looks to move upmarket with this coupe.
