Toyota is going to be rather busy at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, as it is set to show off its new Prius Hybrid and a trio of new concept cars. The one concept that has drawn the most attention is the S-FR (yes, it’s simply FR-S flipped round, I know), which is a tiny sports coupe that looks as if it could slot under the GT86.

According to Toyota, the S-FR will be a compact and lightweight sports car that measures just 3,990 mm (157.1 inches) long, 1,695 mm (66.7 inches) wide and 1,320 mm (52 inches) high, and is aimed at entry-level buyers. From the looks of it, Toyota is definitely aiming at the younger crowd, as this new concept features a slightly over-the-top body most seasoned car buyers would turn their noses up to.

Toyota didn’t get too deep into the powertrain in the S-FR Concept, but it did mention that it’ll be a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration with a six-speed manual transmission. While Toyota was stingy with details on the greasy bits, the sleuths over at SFRforums.com, managed to supposedly dig up its specs.

According to the forum, the S-FR will use a retuned version of the JDM Corolla’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder. In the S-FR, this engine will produce a mild 128 horsepower and 109 pound-feet of torque. While, this may not sound like much, the report also claims that the S-FR will tip the scales at just 2,160 pounds.

The report also claims that the production version of the S-FR will start from the equivalent of $12,500 in Japan, which would be one hell of a bargain. Unfortunately, there are no details on whether or not Toyota will offer this concept in the U.S., nor do we know if it will actually morph into a production model.

We’ll learn more soon enough, as the Tokyo Motor Show kicks off on October 29th.
